Your Mindful Action Plan

[progressally_objectives]

Whew! We’ve covered a lot of information this week! You certainly do not need to do ALL of these things… but as I’ve said, I want to make sure you have the most amazing 2017 possible, and I promised to share all the latest and best research with you!

So there’s just two final things to do this week:

1. Anticipate Obstacles

There are going to be obstacles on the path… because that’s what paths are like! Research shows that when we anticipate, and make a plan for, the obstacles, we are more likely to overcome them.

In the downloads for this lesson, you will find a chart that asks you to identify the obstacles you anticipate. For example, you may know that an obstacle to your meditation practice might be hitting the sleep button too many times, or that an obstacle to your goal of volunteering in your community more might be your ability to get time off of work, or feeling guilty for taking time away from your work.

You can prepare yourself for these obstacles with an “If X, then Y” plan. Determine what your plan will be if you encounter obstacles, both internal and external.

2. Create Your Mindful Action Plan

Also included in the downloads for today are goal planning sheets and daily planning sheets. Use them as you see fit to bring some structure to your days, and to incorporate many of the strategies from this week.
