Welcome to class!

Before we get started, I want to share some important information about the course — how it works and what you can expect.

Lesson Availability
Every seven days, the lessons for a new weekly module will become available. You can work through the lessons at your own pace throughout the week.

You will see all of the lessons you have access to on the left-hand side of your screen (or, if you are on a mobile device, as a drop-down menu at the top of the page).

Many people find it helpful to bookmark (and have their browser save their password for) this main course page so it’s easy to return to.

Keeping Track

Each lesson will have a list of “objectives” or tasks at the top (as you can see on this page) — you can click the checkbox after each item you have completed. When you have checked all the boxes for a specific lesson, a check mark will appear after the name of the lesson on the menu. This way, you can easily see which lessons you have completed as you go through the course.

Comments and Community
Every lesson will have a comments section — you can use this space to ask questions, share insights, and support one another.

Materials Needed
Many lessons will include downloadable “fun sheets” (because no one likes “worksheets!”) I encourage you get a three-ring binder or notebook for the course where you can keep track of your fun sheets. You may also wish to have a journal for reflecting on your practice.

Many people find it helpful to have a cushion for meditation. You don’t need a fancy one — a pillow or blankets will do!

Bonus Materials

When you registered, you should have received the links to the bonus materials. I encourage you to spend some time going through them. If you need to reference them, I have attached them below:

  1. I am looking forward to this course. I live in Auckland New Zealand and am a mother of 3 daughters and grandmother of 7. I have a nursing background and completed a Bachelor of Counselling 5 years ago and am in Private Practice. Mindfulness will be a wonderful tool to add to my kit.

    • Welcome Sarah! I am certain mindfulness and stress reduction will help in your practice and in your personal toolkit. I’m so glad you are here — I love seeing people from all over the world join us!

  2. Hello! I’m so excited to be here. I have enjoyed your other courses and look forward to learning more here. I have two boys, ages 6 and 4…they were the reasons I originally started on this journey of mindfulness. I’m a new yoga teacher and am loving opening other people’s eyes to this practice!

  3. I’m Cindy. I live in Fairfield, PA, but work in Frederick, MD. I’m the mother of 3, two at home and grandmother of 2. I’m an educator and serve as a church women’s ministry leader, a sunday school lead teacher and women’s growth group leader. I’ve been an educator for 24 years. I suffer w/ a few chronic illnesses and have been using eastern practices for pain and recently learned to incorporate yoga. I’m hoping to add to my knowledge base and share this with others in addition to learning it for myself and my family.
